Autonomous and connected vehicles initial report approved; will submit to Governor's Office today
BOISE—Governor C.L. “Butch” Otter’s Executive Committee focused on the study of autonomous and connected vehicles formally approved its initial report and will submit it to the Governor’s Office today (Nov. 1).
Governor Otter created the Autonomous and Connected Vehicle Testing and Deployment Committee in Jan. 2018 to study controlled testing and operation of autonomous vehicles in real-world driving conditions in Idaho. The committee was comprised of industry leaders and members from multiple state agencies.
Idaho Transportation Department Director Brian Ness chaired the committee and has hosted four meetings on the topic since May. A link to the full report can be found on our website at itd.idaho.gov/autonomous.
