Public input sought on U.S. 95 Grangeville-area corridor options
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

GRANGEVILLE - An open house will be held Tuesday, Nov. 14, to get input on goals and options for improving U.S. 95 between White Bird Summit and Fenn, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

The open house will be held at the Grangeville H.S. Cafeteria, 910 South D St. between 4:30 and 7 p.m.

The corridor planning process currently underway is considering highway improvements and the possible rerouting for U.S. 95 and Idaho 13 in the Grangeville area to improve regional and commercial travel.

The project team has worked with stakeholders and a steering committee to identify project goals and needed improvements. The following goals have been identified:

Maintain Grangevilles visibility to the highway and access to the community
    Relieve congestion
    Minimize adverse economic impacts
Improve truck movements and pedestrian safety in downtown Grangeville and the intersection of U.S. 95 and     Idaho 13
Provide access to essential community services

The range of acceptable options will be studied further in a National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) document that will be required for an improvement to U.S. 95.
