Repairs to the junction of U.S. 93 and I-84 overpass begin Tuesday
SHOSHONE - The northbound lanes of U.S. 93 at the junction of I-84 (milepost 53), will be closed and traffic diverted to the southbound lanes, with one lane open in each direction beginning Tuesday, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

Crews will be removing the part of the I-84 overpass that was damaged on Jan. 14 when a truck hauling construction equipment hit it. Delays of 10-15 minutes can be expected. Speed limits will be reduced from 45 mph to 30 mph. Vehicles are limited to a maximum width of 16 feet through the work zone.

Upon removal of the damaged pieces of the overpass, northbound traffic will be returned to normal. However, the right lane of I-84 eastbound will remain closed until further notice.

The removal work is expected to be completed by Jan. 26. Idaho Construction Company of Kimberly is the project contractor.
