Middle Fork Boise River Road washed out

The following news is being released on behalf of the Atlanta Highway District May 17, 2005

BOISE - Recent heavy rains have washed out a large portion of the Middle Fork Boise River Road 10 miles west of Atlanta, the Atlanta Highway District announced.

Approximately 150 feet of roadway washed out Monday night at Steel Creek and Lake Creek. A two-mile section of the roadway has been closed. The Middle Fork Boise River Road provides the primary access to Atlanta. The usual alternate route to Atlanta, James Creek Road from Featherville, is currently impassable due to snow.

It is unknown how long the Middle Fork Boise River and James Creek roads will be closed.
