Blasting work will create minor delays at Exit 29/Franklin Interchange in Caldwell
CALDWELL - On Sunday, Feb. 18, the Idaho Transportation Department will be rock blasting as part of work to install a storm sewer pipe. The work, south of Franklin Road and east of 21st Avenue, is scheduled for the early afternoon hours on Sunday.
Motorists on Franklin Road and 21st Avenue will be stopped by flaggers prior to the blasting zone. Both roads will be closed 5 to 10 minutes. Interstate 84 will remain open. However, motorists exiting the interstate at Exit 29 will be directed away from the blasting zone during the 5-10 minutes in which the work occurs.
In preparation for the blasting, Commercial Way will be closed between Specht Avenue and 21st Avenue starting at 8 a.m. on Friday morning, Feb. 16. The closure of Commercial Way will last until Friday, Feb. 23, at 5 p.m. to allow construction crews to complete follow-up work after the blasting. A detour route will be posted.
