Public invited to review plans at open house March 6 for I-15 at Exit 113 in Shelley
IDAHO FALLS - The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) will host an open house for the public to learn more about planned improvements for the Interstate 15, Exit 113 intersection.
The open house will be held Wednesday, March 6, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Riverview Elementary School (1463 N 800 E, Shelley).
ITD plans to make improvements to the ramp intersections at Exit 113 on I-15. Due to increasing congestion and the need to improve safety and mobility, ITD is proposing to implement intersection roundabouts, as well as lengthen the ramps.
Attendees will have the opportunity to review and comment on ITD's "preferred alternative" for improvements. Construction for this section is anticipated to begin in 2022.
"The current congestion at the ramp intersections causes increased traffic delays which in turn slow down mobility," said ITD Program Manager Troy Williams. "The public's engagement on this project will help ensure the improvements meet expectations."
