MEDIA ADVISORY: ITD reminds drivers of safety in work zones in the Treasure Valley
BOISE - The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) reminds motorists to drive carefully through work zones - for their own safety and the safety of construction workers.
Each year, ITD draws special attention to safe driving in or near work zones during Work Zone Awareness Week, which is this week (April 8-12).
As the weather warms, construction zones will be prevalent in the Treasure Valley. Each project is different in terms of road pattern changes and reduced speed limits. Know before you go and check 511 for traffic impacts from construction or roadway hazards.

MEDIA ADVISORY
This year, the ITD Southwest Idaho office is sharing the story of Scott Wenger, a maintenance crew member who was struck by a vehicle on I-184 (The Connector) while doing routine work. You can view his story on YouTube at: https://youtu.be/mFmEAc3sr0Q.

ITD is urging motorists to drive engaged. Crews can set up work zones at any point in the highway. Drive well when you see flashing lights by slowing down and moving over, if possible.
