ITD to hold public open house for Idaho 16 Corridor October 30th

BOISE – The Idaho Transportation Department is hosting an open house to provide information on the design work of the Idaho Highway 16 Corridor on Wednesday, Oct. 30.

At the open house, visitors will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn about the project
  • View and provide comments on design refinements
  • Find out about next steps for the project
  • Sign up for future updates and involvement opportunities

ITD has spent the past year refining the conceptual design of the corridor, which begins at I-84 west of McDermott Rd and extends north to Idaho Highway 44. The corridor will be a limited access, high-speed expressway and serve as a critical north-south connection in the heart of the Treasure Valley.

Final design and construction of the highway is not currently funded, however, the Department is actively looking for ways to fund the corridor. In December 2018, the Idaho Transportation Board approved $90.2 million, which will be used to purchase right of way to protect the highway from encroaching growth.

Open House details:

When: Oct. 30, 4-6:30 p.m.

Where: The Hampton Inn Suites at the Idaho Center, 5750 E Franklin Rd, Nampa, ID 83687

What: Idaho Highway 16 Corridor, design refinements and next steps

Additional information about the corridor can be found at ITDprojects.org/Idaho16.
