Weiser River Bridge contractor to share information about winter construction plans north of Council at Nov. 12 meeting
BOISE– Community members are invited to a “drop in” meeting on Tues. Nov. 12 to learn about plans for winter construction on the Weiser River Bridge north of Council. The meeting will be open from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Adams County Courthouse in Council.
The Idaho Transportation Department is replacing the bridge with a new, wider structure that will include upgraded guardrail and safety improvements. The project was delayed this fall when the contractor made changes to the construction plans.
ITD reported this month that the contractor, Knife River, would continue working into the winter.
“We are supportive of Knife River’s goal to open two lanes of traffic by the end of the year,” said ITD District 3 Engineering Manager Jason Brinkman. “ITD is working closely with Knife River throughout this project to ensure the project area is safe for all travelers this winter. We appreciate the community’s ongoing patience.”
Representatives from Knife River and ITD will be on hand to answer questions during the Nov. 12 drop-in meeting.
To request emails about bridge construction, text WEISER to 22828. Information will also be posted to itdprojects.org/95weiserriverbridge.
Construction on the bridge is expected to be completed by mid-2020.
