I-15 closed between Idaho Falls and Roberts

IDAHO FALLS ‑ Reduced visibility caused by blowing dust prompted the closure of Interstate 15 between Idaho Falls and Roberts (mileposts 119‑134.5) this afternoon, the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) announced.

The highway closed at 4:30 p.m. ITD estimates the interstate will reopen at 9 p.m. when wind is expected to subside.

Traffic is being detoured from I-15 to U.S. 20 in Idaho Falls and from U.S. 20 in Rigby to Idaho 48, which runs to Roberts.
