Bridge work on Idaho 25 begins Wednesday
SHOSHONE - Crews will begin joint repairs on the Downard Bridge deck on Idaho 25 Wednesday (May 9), the Idaho Transportation Department announced. The bridge is located near milepost 57, about four miles east of Rupert.
Traffic over the bridge will be reduced to a single lane during daylight hours with flaggers directing motorists through the project. Vehicles will be limited to a maximum width of 12 feet through the construction zone, and the speed limit will be reduced to 35 mph. Expect delays of 10-15 minutes.
The project includes replacing bridge joints and sealing the concrete bridge deck. Those improvements will extend the life of the bridge and provide better traction for motorists.
Construction is expected to be complete late this month. Cannon Builders Inc. of Blackfoot is the project contractor.
