I-84 westbound right lane reopens; Ten Mile overpass remains closed
BOISE - The right lane of westbound Interstate 84 west of Meridian reopened to traffic  early this afternoon after Idaho Transportation Department crews finished removing debris from an overpass that was damaged Sunday evening.

Two of the five girders over I-84 at Ten Mile Road were severely damaged when struck by heavy equipment being transported on the interstate at about 7:20 p.m. Engineers are assessing the extent of damage to the overpass that carries approximately 6,900 vehicles per day. ITD hopes to open the overpass to a single of alternating traffic as soon as possible, with width and weight restrictions likely.

Travelers who normally use the north-south route to cross the interstate are advised to use Meridian or Eagle roads to the east and Black Cat or Garrity to the west as alternatives
