Eastbound inside lanes of I-84 closed Thursday morning
BOISE - The two inside lanes of eastbound Interstate 84 closed Thursday morning to allow construction crews to work on repairs to the Cloverdale Road Overpass, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

This eastbound section of I-84 consists of four lanes. The two right lanes are open to vehicles. The closure of the two left, or inside lanes, is scheduled to last until about 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.

The Cloverdale Overpass was damaged in July 2006 when it was struck by an over-height vehicle traveling eastbound on Interstate 84. The impact damaged several bridge girders, requiring weight restrictions on the overpass. After careful analysis, the transportation department determined two girders on the overpass would have to be replaced to repair the bridge structure.

On May 30, the overpass closed to all vehicles, pedestrians and bicycles. The bridge is expected to reopen with the project's completion in early July 2007.
