Resurfacing of Idaho 46 in Gooding interrupted temporarily
SHOSHONE - A project to resurface Idaho 46 with a long-lasting superpave asphalt as it passes through Gooding has been interrupted temporarily, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

Contractor DEBCO, Inc., of Twin Falls, has moved equipment from the project to another location while the asphalt mix is perfected. The project to apply a durable surface on the highway will resume after the appropriate mix is formulated.

Grinding and paving operations should begin again in about two weeks.

When work resumes, traffic on four-lane sections will be reduced to two lanes; flaggers will direct motorists where routes are reduced to a single lane. Traffic restrictions will be limited to daylight hours. Delays should be expected.

Concrete work on sidewalks along the east side of Idaho 46 will continue Monday (June 4).

The $1.9 million project still is on target for completion in late July.
