Idaho 34/Idaho 36 corridor-planning meetings to be held June 26 and 27
POCATELLO - The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) is developing a 20-year plan to guide future management of the Idaho 34/Idaho 36 transportation corridor and invites the public to provide comment at open house meetings.

Meetings will be held at the following times and locations:
  •     In Preston - Tuesday, June 26, 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. at the Robinson Building, 186 West 2nd North
  •     In Soda Springs - Wednesday, June 27 from 5 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Caribou County-BLM Fire Station, 645 East 2nd South
The public is encouraged to drop by anytime between the hours indicated. Brief project overviews will be presented at 5:15 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.  Project officials will answer questions and receive comments about Idaho 34 and Idaho 36 corridor issues.

"ITD is committed to long-range planning to make sure the corridor remains a viable part of the transportation system," said Judy Harmon, ITD project manager.

The corridor plan will document existing conditions along the highway and forecast future needs.  It will look at future growth in the area, local land use, zoning and other development requirements, and environmental constraints that might impact corridor improvements.
