Media Advisory: ITD to offer site visit Wednesday at US-95 slide south of Riggins
The Idaho Transportation Department is offering media tours of the rockslide on US-95 south of Riggins to get video and pictures as crews work to remove debris. ITD officials and the resident engineer geologist will be available to answer questions about the slide.
When: Wednesday, July 22 at 10 a.m. PDT / 11 a.m. MDT
Where: Milepost 188 on US-95
Media members should RSVP if you are going to attend. Please drive to the closure and inform the flagger that you are attending the media event. Plan an extra 30 minutes to get through the queue; do not jump the line but rather wait until the flagger directs you behind the barricades.
RSVP ahead of leaving to Megan Sausser at (208) 625-9171 if you are interested in attending from the north side, or to Vincent Trimboli at (208) 949-3712 if you are interested in attending from the south side. Cell service is not available on site.
Please bring the following safety equipment: a vest, a hard hat, safety glasses, ear protection and sturdy boots. Safety equipment will be provided if necessary.
