Traffic to be moved onto new alignment on U.S. 95, Setters to Bellgrove beginning Friday (June 29th)
COEUR D'ALENE - Traffic is scheduled to be moved from its current configuration on U.S. 95 from Setters to Bellgrove beginning tomorrow (June 29), the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

The six-mile segment of roadway is being constructed and realigned to a four-lane, divided highway, and includes new bridges spanning Lightening and Lake creeks. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Motorists will be routed to the newly constructed northbound lanes of U.S. 95, from south of Bitter Road to just south of Sun Up Bay Road.  Two-way traffic will run on the northbound lanes while construction continues on the southbound lanes.

Access to local roads (Bitters, Setters, Ness, Stringham, and Rew) will be maintained from the Setters Road intersection with U.S. 95.  Traffic will turn west at Setters Road and then turn north or south onto Old U.S. 95.  Old U.S. 95 will remain open via Setters Road, from Bitter Road to Rew Road.

Flaggers will guide traffic through the work zone.  Motorists can expect delays of up to 15 minutes.  The speed limit has been reduced to 50 mph through this and other ongoing construction projects in the U.S. 95 corridor.
Weather may delay the traffic revision, however, no traffic revisions or work impacting traffic will occur on July 3, 4 or 5.

The prime contractors for these projects are SA Gonzales of Newman Lake, Wash. and Max J. Kuney of Spokane, Wash.
