Interstate 90 at Rose Lake Interchange to close Thursday for investigation
COEUR D'ALENE - Interstate 90 at the Rose Lake/Idaho 3 Interchange east of Fourth of July Pass will be closed for a brief period Thursday morning (July 12), the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
The closure is necessary while the Idaho State Police continues its investigation into a fatal crash that occured on Sunday, July 8. Three children were killed and two adults severely injured when their vehicle went out of control and smashed against a bridge pillar supporting the overpass structure.
The closure will begin at approximately 3:30 a.m. and will last about 3 hours. Interstate traffic in both directions will be detoured onto the off-ramps at the interchange with Idaho 3. Variable message signs will be placed to warn motorists of the closure.
