Interstate 84 seal coat work done at Idaho/Oregon border
BOISE - Eastbound and westbound Interstate 84 motorists at the Idaho/Oregon border are advised to watch for detours and delays during seal coat work, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

The department is doing seal coat work on the interstate, from milepost 0 to milepost 12.81 on the eastbound and westbound sections. On Tuesday, the right-hand, or outside lanes of the eastbound and westbound sections closed between those mileposts. There also will be closures of the inside lane. When the inside lanes in both sections close, the outside lanes will be open.

The Oregon Department of Transportation also is doing bridge work on the Idaho/Oregon border. The department has an oversized-load restriction on the bridge. Traffic is being diverted from Exit 376 A in Ontario to Exit 3.

There will be intermittent eastbound and westbound closures of Exit 3 on the Idaho side of the border. There also will be intermittent closures of Exit 9, for eastbound and westbound traffic.

The exit closures will last approximately an hour. Electronic message boards in the area will direct over-sized loads and passenger vehicles to the closest available exit.

During the Exit 3 closure, over-sized loads are being directed to Exit 9. Exit 376 A in Ontario will not be available to over-sized loads because of the work being done on the Snake River Bridge by the Oregon Department of Transportation.

The seal coat work will be completed this week, and the exits completely opened.
