Repaving project begins on Idaho 55 Next Week Between Donnelly and McCall

McCall – The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) is beginning construction on a project to repave Idaho 55 between Wallace Lane in Donnelly and Deinhard Lane in McCall. Construction will begin on Monday, June 21 2021. The project is expected to wrap up this fall.

The project will mill out the surface pavement and repair the road base where needed then place a fresh layer of pavement. Adjacent driveways and approaches will be adjusted to create a smooth transition to Idaho 55. The project will provide a smoother driving surface for those traveling along Idaho 55 and extend the service life of the roadway.

Here’s what to expect on Idaho 55 this summer:

  • Work will take place on weekdays – Monday through Thursday
  • Construction will not occur on weekends.
  • ID-55 will be reduced to one lane with pilot cars directing traffic.
  • Speed limits will be reduced, and 12-foot restrictions will be in place.
  • Road surface will be uneven.

“The Transportation Department is taking measures to coordinate all construction projects along Idaho 55 and U.S. 95 to ensure minimal delays to motorists,” said Daris Bruce, ITD Resident Engineer.

Sunroc DBA Depatco out of Idaho Falls is the contractor for the $3.2 million project.
