I-84 bridge maintenance will pause for winter near Franklin Boulevard (Exit 36) in Nampa
The Idaho Transportation Department will shut down maintenance work on two bridges on I-84 in Nampa this winter due to cold temperatures and construction delays.
The two bridges cross over the Phyllis Canal and the Union Pacific Railroad east of the Franklin Boulevard Interchange (Exit 36). They were part of a regular maintenance project for several bridges on or over I-84 in Nampa. In preparation for the winter shutdown the project contractor, Canon Builders Inc., placed ramps on the milled surface of the bridge to improve the smoothness of the drive over the winter.
The contractor will redeploy in the spring when temperatures allow. Final work will include maintaining joints in the concrete and placing a final, smooth overlay on both bridges.
