Westbound I-84 lane will reopen Thursday (Aug. 9) in Eagle off-ramp construction area
BOISE - Westbound I-84 near the Eagle Road off-ramp will return to four lanes at 6 a.m. Thursday (Aug. 9), the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) announced.

The outside lane of westbound I-84 closed in July to allow for the lengthening of the Eagle westbound off-ramp 1,600 feet along I-84. The 1,600-foot addition is scheduled to open later this month, when new signage can be installed.

The ramp lengthening is part of the I-84 Eagle westbound off-ramp project, which is designed to reduce traffic backups on the interstate and improve traffic flow at the intersection with Eagle Road. Other improvements have included widening the off-ramp to dual right and dual left turn lanes for turning north and south onto Eagle Road, and adding a traffic signal to the right turn lanes.

WF Construction of Meridian is the contractor for the $2.5 million project.
