Appreciation in Headquarters celebrates
employee contributions

ITD celebrated employees at Headquarters and across the districts in May. This story focuses on the events at the HQ complex, but future editions will delve into the district celebrations of the last several weeks. There are more than 1,600 ITD employees across the state, with 560 of those at HQ.

The celebration in Boise at ITD Headquarters kicked off early in May, when Gov. Brad Little declared Employee Appreciation Week for state workers. There were several events held at HQ to mark the occasion, including a 20-minute Wellness Walk, the executives handing out cookies to workers, and appreciation cards affixed to the walls with notes of appreciation from employees to each other.

Hundreds of personalized cards adorned the walls of the Headquarters' lobby. Those same cards were sent to the recipients following the event, so that they could enjoy the appreciation of co-workers who had taken the time to fill one out.

The Wellness Walk featured 101 walkers, up from 21 last year. ITD wellness-sponsored sun screen and lip balm were given to the participants. Executives and HQ-based Senior Leadership members donated money to fund the cookie and veggie event. The Governor gave away ice cream bars donated by the Dairy Council. That event was Tuesday, May 7 on the steps of the capitol building.

The week's events were a vivid reminder that ITD’s success is dependent on every employee in every district and division.

Note: We do more than any single person could accomplish— we are 1,600 Strong! Tune in next week as we start cataloging the employee-appreciation events across the state.
