Lucky 13: Freeman tops D3 equipment roadeo, again

Testing skills and capabilities along with colleagues from throughout the region, 33 participants gathered June 13 at the gravel pit at Blacks Creek east of Boise to compete in the 2019 District 3 Equipment Roadeo. For the 13th time, the name at the top of the standings when the dust cleared was Robin Freeman, foreman of the Council maintenance shed. He has advanced to compete at the state level more than 20 times.

Freeman has won the statewide ITD championship four times, earning a spot in the national competition. In 2007, he was on the ITD team at the national event that placed 2nd in the 10-wheel truck course.

These are repeat trips to state (June 18) for everyone on the list of top finishers:

1st Place – Robin Freeman, Council
2nd Place – Camilo Serrano, Marsing
3rd Place – Juan Salinas, Marsing
4th Place – Trent Maupin (HQ)
