D3 Traffic overpowers weeds for safety

D3's Traffic section recently took on a weed-infested courtyard area on the District 3 campus as part of their July staff meeting. The weeds were becoming a safety hazard for the district's nearly 300 employees, so the area was cleaned up as a safety/team building exercise.

The team worked together and manually cleared the area of overgrown vegetation in just 30 minutes.

"This area is off of the atrium that used to house our indoor arboreum," said D3 Admin. Support's Althea Fackrell. "We enjoy our courtyard because of the nature it attracts. Although It was too late for spring bird migration and mallard duck courting, the cleaning is just in time for the late- summer bee swarm and fall bird migration that usually occur in this area each year."

Here were the D3 participants in the cleanup: Justin Price, Jeff Crider, Rob Medley, Sarah Arjona, Shona Tonkin, Mariah Rutledge, Tyson McCoy, Tom Lindsey, and Ken Couch.
