Employees invited to TRB presentation
and open forum Aug. 1

ITD employees are invited to a presentation in Boise at the Headquarters Auditorium Aug. 1 from the national Transportation Research Board (TRB). The presentation will be video conferenced via WebEx in each of the districts. The session will be held at 1:30 PDT and 2:30 MDT. Anyone interested in learning more about TRB, and how ITD interacts with them, is encouraged to participate.

TRB is part of the National Academy of Sciences and manages a number of national research programs, including the National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP), the Transit Cooperative Research Program (TCRP), and the Airport Cooperative Research Program. TRB also hosts conferences and webinars on a wide range of transportation issues, and maintains a publically available database with information about more than 1.1. million transportation research documents.

Steve Anderle, a senior program officer at TRB focusing on safety, mobility and public transportation issues, and Stephan Parker, who manages NCHRP and TCRP research projects, will lead the discussion. They will provide information on research programs they manage, and share information about how staff can access materials (reports, journal articles, etc.), participate in webinars and conferences, and get involved in TRB activities.
