ITD child-safety video featuring Tuttle's granddaughter
wins AAMVA award

ITD’s child-safety video, filmed by long-time department videographer Dave Tuttle and featuring his seven-year-old granddaughter, Sienna, won an Public Affairs and Consumer Education award from the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA) at its 2019 Region 4 meeting in Denver, Colorado July 17.

The video was done at home one afternoon, in one shot.

The video won in the internally-produced TV commercial or PSA (public service announcement) category. Seat belt do not yet properly fit many youngsters, so the video was meant to combat the trend of a majority of Idahoans (64%) either not putting their children in safety seats or booster seats at all, or putting them in seats that are too small for them.

To increase the use of child safety or booster seats and decrease the number of injuries and fatalities, ITD produced and distributed the PSA as part of a comprehensive statewide campaign.

AAMVA’s awards foster a tradition of excellence in motor-vehicle groups and the law-enforcement community. AAMVA annually honors individuals, teams, and organizations who have committed their time and resources to safety initiatives, outstanding customer service, and public affairs and consumer education programs throughout North America.
