Clark Fork volunteers give new look
to outdated ITD building

Idaho Highway 200 through the city of Clark Fork and along the banks of the Clark Fork River is quite scenic, but one outdated ITD building definitely wasn’t adding to the visual appeal.

Leased to Bonner County Search and Rescue, ITD hasn’t had much use for it for some time and thus had not diverted resources from other critical infrastructure to touch up the paint.

When asked to participate in the city’s beautification project, ITD could not offer much.

Nevertheless, about 20 city volunteers came together in late July to pressure-wash the building and apply a fresh coat of white paint. It took 40 gallons to get the job done, with paint recycled from a previous Hazmat Collection weekend.

“All in all, it was a productive community effort, and the painting of the ITD building does help to improve the first impression of our city by those traveling through,” Assistant City Clerk Vicki Woodward said.
