Is ITD in your blood?

Have you ever thought about how you decide where to work?

In years past, people just did what their father did, or took over the family business, especially if you were the oldest son.  These days, kids decide where they want to work – or is it in their blood? A legacy?

District 1 polled their employees and found there are several family legacies.

- Breanna Williams has been an hourly for a little over 2 months, her dad has been with us for 15 years and her grandma Kim worked for ITD for 5 years = 20.2 years
- Brothers Adrian Lindsay 21 years and counting and Tom Lindsay District 3 for 14 years and counting = 35 years
- Wally Barton (Buzz) has worked at ITD for 35 years and counting and his son worked for 2 summers = 37 years
- Joel Heston currently 32 years and his brother Jared currently at 7 years = 39 years
- Bob Fenner currently 22 years and his dad 14 years and is on his 4th year as an hourly plowing snow = 40 years
- Rob Nettleton currently at 31 years and his cousin Steve Nettleton has 15 years in so far = 46 years
- Robin Karsann has been at ITD for 7 years and her husband retired with 39 years and an uncle plowed for several seasons in the Osburn shed = 46 years.
- Tristan Brown currently at 9 years, retired dad Wally Brown for 38 years and 11 months and his mom, Tracy worked one summer for 5 months for a total of 48.4 years.
- Tyler Carrico has worked here for 12 years and counting, his uncle Ron worked for 42 years, his grandfather, Gene was the foreman in the 50s for 6 years for a total of 60 years
- Dave Bohrn currently working with 35 years so far and his dad worked here for 30 years for a total of 65 years
- The Lenz family; Pete, mechanic, currently running at 36 years, Mike, Mtce TSEA at 12 years, Dustin retired with 12 years and Larry had 10 years in for a total of 70 years.
- Kait Mills-Smith has been here 4 years, this time, her cousin worked for half a year, her dad, Greg for 35.5 years, her Grandpa 39.5 years, her Grandma was on the ITD Board for 20 years and her Great Grandpa for 2 years. That is 101.5 years and 4 generations.

Most of us consider ourselves one big family; now we know some of that is based on fact.
