ITD Annual Report video wins another “Gold” award

The video version of the most recent ITD Annual Report won yet another award last week – a “Gold” award from AVA Digital.  The video won in the long-form category.

The video has won awards as a top-notch product by a number of organizations:

AVA Digital Gold – January 2020
MarCom Gold – October 2019
Videographer Award of Distinction – July 2019
TransCom 1st Place for Video Production – July 2019

In just under eight minutes, the Annual Report video summarizes the highly successful 2018 fiscal year and the department’s accomplishments toward the goals of safety, mobility and economic opportunity.

Utilizing a different communication channel to expand outreach of the department's accomplishments and mission, ITD added a video component to its usual hardcopy version of the annual report. This marked the very first time that the department has produced an Annual Report video, acknowledging evolving viewer preferences for visuals (video or pictures) and with a nod to the ever-shrinking attention spans within the population.

Recognizing that our employees can be our best ambassadors with the public, the annual report video was distributed to every employee to share the ITD Way with friends and neighbors. It was also sent to all of the media around the state, as they can be incredibly valuable partners in telling the ITD story.

The ITD Annual Report video script was written by Technical Writer Rik Hinton, with videography work done by Bill Kotowski of the Office of Highway Safety.
