Pay Increases Approved
for Targeted Positions

In an earlier Direct from the Director, it was announced the Idaho Transportation Board approved pay increases for targeted positions.  I am pleased to announce all four components of the compensation plan have been approved by the Division of Financial Management and Division of Human Resources.

The plan presented to the board has four components:

- An increase in salary for employees making less than 80% of their respective pay grade to bring pay rates in alignment with ITD policy; this is a result of legislative action taken to adjust the pay grades upward by 3%.
- Move employees in an approved Horizontal Career Path (HCP) to the next step if they meet eligibility requirements; this is approval to take action on established HCPs previously agreed upon.
- Targeted increases for hard-to-fill positions, including Mechanics (classification 06347), Traffic Signal Electrician (classification 06276), and Land Surveyors (classification 03008); this component was previously approved by the Idaho Transportation Board, but never received final approval until now.
- An increase to the Transportion Technician Apprentice and Transportation Technician step pay rates; this component was previously approved by the Idaho Transportation Board, but never received final approval until now.

It is important for ITD to follow through on previous commitments made to the employees. When you come to work at the Idaho Transportation Department every employee has the opportunity to enjoy a fulfilling career. This stable environment ensures we can move closer to our vision of becoming the best transportation department in the country.
