Office of Communication
spearheads 44% increase
in FY20 outreach

ITD’s Office of Communication (OC) helped create a 44% increase in outreach in FY20 compared to the year prior, from 3.39M impressions/views to 4.89M. The increase was primarily accomplished by targeted public-information and awareness campaigns that utilized various outreach platforms and communication channels to reach disparate stakeholder groups.

“By targeting specific groups through a combination of channels, such as traditional news releases, social-media posts, website updates, electronic newsletters, and more, we have been able to get important department information out to decision-makers, influencers and the public in general"’ Public Information Officer Reed Hollinshead said. “Providing timely and accurate information in a variety of venues and using a variety of tools only increases the department’s standing in the eyes of the public and in the opinion of state and industry leaders — it helps pave the way forward.”

Hollinshead, along with south-central Idaho PIO Jessica Williams and ITD Videographer Dave Tuttle, helped to spearhead the outreach initiative this past year, although everyone in the OC contributed along the way. Their charge is to continue to grow the department’s meaningful outreach in subsequent years.
