Submitting county renewal notices entirely
electronically saves time, paper

The county sheriffs and assessors receive a variety of reports from the DMV to assist in their regular operations.

One report, a monthly list of vehicle registration renewal notices, was being requested from 18 counties. A DMV employee would extract the data and print an average of 2,700 pages of information. Half of those pages were shredded because they included data that was not deemed relevant. The remainder was packaged and mailed to the counties.

But now, the report is automatically generated monthly from the DMV system — just the relevant data — and emailed to the counties.

“The process now does not need to be monitored,” Technical Records Specialist 2 Kristall Gutierrez said. “No report is printed, which saves time, paper, ink and mailing costs.”
