McElhinney, Hammon announce annual
ITD/AGC Partnering Excellence awards

Appreciating that ITD employees and contractors are successful in construction partnering, which benefits Idaho travelers and taxpayers overall, ITD Chief Operations Officer Dan McElhinney and Wayne Hammon, CEO of the Idaho Associated General Contractors, recently jointly announced an annual award competition to recognize outstanding partnering efforts.

The inaugural ITD/AGC Excellence in Construction Partnering awards are underway, with applications due by Nov. 16. To download the application form, visit https://itd.idaho.gov/itd/ under the Excellence Awards tab. Construction contracts underway today or projects built within the last three years are eligible, including work on statewide highways and local road projects. A judging panel of state and local partners will review all applicants, and an event to announce winners is planned for early December.

"ITD and the Associated General Contractors of Idaho value project partnering to help complete transportation projects across Idaho in a timely, professional, and responsive manner,” McElhinney said.

“We want to recognize team solutions, share lessons learned, and highlight best practices for infrastructure projects of all types and sizes. Construction partnering on projects is just good business. Taking formal partnering steps together, from the initial contract meeting and regularly throughout the project, helps improve communications, focuses the team on quality and timely issue resolution, increases efficiency and enhances work zone safety for all.”
