The District 1 office in CDA helped save a baby Bald Eaglet July 31, connecting the starving, perhaps stunned young raptor with the Prairie Animal Hospital and ultimately the Birds of Prey Northwest for rehabilitation.

New DMV online app allows instant check of vehicle title status
Check the status of your motor vehicle title online and for free using a new Vehicle Title Status Checker recently launched by the Idaho Transportation Department’s Division of Motor Vehicles. The new online feature allows DMV customers, auto dealers, banks and county motor vehicle offices to instantly check the status of an Idaho motor vehicle title application.

FHWA preparing to issue research contracts for SHRP2 safety database
The Federal Highway Administration plans to soon announce $500,000 in awards of contracts or cooperative agreements for researchers to explore a major national database of driver behavior and roadway safety information developed in the second Strategic Highway Research Program.

Encore (08-10-15): Hazmat teams respond to Thurwsday calls to Headquarters
More than 500 employees at ITD Headquarters were locked down last Thursday after an envelope containing white powder was opened. Boise police and Hazmat responders arrived at the department’s Boise campus just after noon, following a report of an unknown substance in the building.

Encore (08-10-15): Adopting highways, honoring heroes
From Coeur d'Alene Press July 29, 2015: The Coeur d'Alene High School football team stepped up Tuesday to remember two local fallen heroes and keep three stretches of Highway 95 clean. Three Adopt-a-Highway signs were unveiled Tuesday along Highway 95 in Coeur d'Alene, Dalton Gardens and Garwood.

The scour repair project on the Clearwater River Bridge in Lewiston, recognized for an AASHTO Innovation Initiative and winner of an AASHTO President’s Award for Environment, also was an winning entry for West Company (Airway Heights, Wash.) in the Washington State Associated General Contractors “Build Northwest” awards in the Inland Chapter.
