Boise's Broadway Bridge opens Sept. 9 as ceremony welcomes community across new bridge
Just nine months after construction began, Boise’s Broadway Bridge opened to the public Sept. 9. The official opening, hosted by Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) District 3 Board Member Julie DeLorenzo, concluded with dignitaries including ITD Director Brian Ness, Boise Mayor Dave Bieter, Boise State President Dr. Bob Kustra and others pulling barriers on the bridge and opening it to traffic.

ITD safety and communication efforts again recognized by national peers
For the third consecutive year, a pair of communication efforts by the Idaho Transportation Department were among the nation's best, as recognized by the American Association of State Highway Transportation Officials (AASHTO) at their recent annual gathering in Charleston, W. Virginia.

ITD From the Vault (Sept. 1991): Last I-90 stoplight between Seattle and Boston laid to rest
The last stoplight on Interstate 90 between Seattle and Boston was laid to rest 25 years ago this week in Wallace. Waters from the Pacific and Atlantic oceans were mingled to symbolically illustrate the connection of the two coasts via I-90.
