Technology
Employee desk phones to be upgraded
The desk phones of all employees will be upgraded soon as the department moves to more securely link our phones to our computers, and the viable lifespan of the old phone system draws to a close. The phones installation will roll out by the end of the year throughout headquarters, and from January to May in the districts.

Enhanced 511 Traveler Information System launched Oct. 31
With winter driving weather bearing down on much of the state, a new and improved version of the 511 Traveler Information System launched Oct. 31. The improved site, still accessible at 511.idaho.gov, offers an updated look and new features for the 14-year-old service.

Safety Collaboration
ITD and other agencies collaborate for safety
When cars crash into each other, ITD isn’t the only agency on scene, even if we are the first ones to arrive. Responding to those collisions is at the heart of traffic incident management, and in October employees from D1 and D2 led a training on it.

District 3
D3, Horrocks win Outstanding Plan Award for Mountain Home Master Plan
The Mountain Home Downtown Master Plan received the Outstanding Plan Award Oct. 3 from the Idaho Chapter of the American Planning Association. The plan is the collaborative result of work by Horrocks Engineers, D3 and the city of Mountain Home. The work of city staff was integral in the process.
