Online Technology Bootcamp provides instruction for employees during pandemic
Fulfilling the Transportation Tech Operator (TTO) Step 1 process requires completing the 2-day Technology Boot Camp computer course. During the pandemic, however, assembling a traditional hands-on, in-person class was simply not possible. So ITD’s Training & Development people went to work to find a solution.

Employee Information Site plays important role during pandemic
When the “stay-at-home” order was first issued by Gov. Little back in March, employees were understandably confused and worried about what was happening with their jobs and the workplace they’d called home, many of them for decades. Information was coming at them fast and furious from many different sources. Not all of it was accurate or timely. To bridge that information gap, the Office of Communication went into high gear.

DMV
DMV's COVID-caused backlog reduced by increased use of online services
As COVID-19 continues to impact lives in Idaho, the DMV is one of many divisions at the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) adjusting the way it operates. For several months now, the DMV has turned to its online services to help keep crowd sizes down at county offices. Since March the backlog has been cut in half.

Access
ITD meets public and employee needs by broadcasting transportation board meetings via WebEx during pandemic
When the pandemic hit hard in March and almost all of ITD began working from home over the next several months, the department still had an obligation under Open Meeting Law to make Idaho Transportation Board meetings accessible to the public. ITD also needed to do so for employees and presenters to the board who could no longer just pop into an in-person board meeting. WebEx was the solution.
