Eight years after its completion, the Sand Creek Byway in Sandpoint complements the lifestyle of residents while allowing for a convenient through-route for travelers and commercial traffic. Despite challenges, it was constructed on time and on budget and ultimately earned deep community support.

Streamlined Solutions
Switch to AASHTOWare Project-Construct program promises to streamline processes for users
ITD’s Design/Construct groups frequently turn to software in the administration of projects. However, more and more users found “pinch points” or “bottlenecks” that reduced the viability of various systems. So the department put together a working group back in April to tackle that issue and find solutions.

Preparedness
ITD, forecasting and preparedness partners receive award for Pathfinder system benefiting safety of Idaho travelers
ITD, the National Weather Service and key partners in weather-monitoring and preparedness in the region, recently received an award for the Pathfinder system, which monitors weather conditions likely to affect travel to advise motorists of options to minimize the negative impact.
