Sausser takes over as D1/D2 communication presence

District 1 and District 2 now have a dedicated, onsite communication presence. Megan Sausser, a recent University of Idaho graduate and lifelong Idahoan, assumed the new role in November.

Sausser fills the role held by Barbara Babic in District 1 until her retirement many years ago. District 2's communication needs have been met on an "as-needed" basis from ITD Headquarters for the last several years, rotating between Adam Rush and Reed Hollinshead, and Mel Coulter before them.

"I'll be telling the stories of both districts," Sausser explained. "There are wonderful people in both places, and great stories to tell. In the short time I've been here, I've been amazed at all of the work ITD does behind the scenes, and I look forward to promoting those efforts."

"It'll be a significant challenge to share all of the happenings of two districts," she added, "but I do have a twin sister who can serve as my body double when I'm needed in more than one place."

Sausser was born in Coeur d'Alene, and lived in Post Falls before attending the U of I in Moscow. "I've spent a few summers in other wonderful places such as Glacier National Park and the Black Hills in South Dakota, but I'll always come home to the Panhandle," said Sausser. "I'm a true Idahoan - in my spare time, I ride my dirt bike, hike and read."

"This position will provide a wonderful opportunity to share ITD's accomplishments in the northern districts with both the public and the rest of the department," she added.
