Knowledge transfer, collaboration highlight annual National Concrete Consortium meeting

A half-dozen ITD employees attended the spring meeting of the National Concrete Consortium in Coeur d'Alene April 24-26. Three of the ITD attendees also were conference presenters.

The benefit to ITD is knowledge transfer, updating national research, collaborating with peers and industry regarding current concrete technology. The meeting also features national experts on concrete technology, which improves specifications including leading the effort on performance based concrete mixes.

Ultimately, the meeting also holds benefit for our stakeholders, the driving public, since these best practices translate into better roads and highways.

The consortium consists of 33 states and a tollway.
