Cake, ice cream, heartfelt thanks
follow "extremely stressful" week for employees

After a grueling, stressful stretch of days where long hours and uncertainties were the norm, ITD employees at Headquarters in Boise were treated Sept. 6 to cake, ice cream, a sincere thank you from management, and a well-deserved break in the action.

Employees from DMV, ETS, Communication and others had been involved daily since switching to new software Aug. 9-10 through the vendor issues of the last week.

"THANK YOU for your hard work and support during the recent outages of the driver's license issuance system. Words cannot express how much I appreciate everything that took place the last couple of weeks," DMV Administrator Alberto Gonzalez wrote to employees in his newsletter.

More than 100 employees were invited to the event in the Auditorium Thursday afternoon.

"It has been an extremely stressful week for employees, and we just wanted to take some time out to thank them for their hard work," said ITD Chief Deputy Scott Stokes. "Those efforts are not going unnoticed."
