Districts collaborate to repair highway

In the first week of October, ITD Districts 5 & 6 worked together to fix a deteriorating section of road on US-91 in Shelley. After concern from local officials and residents regarding the rough highway, ITD was able to pull their resources from two districts together and repair the road. After repairing this rough highway section, trucks will no longer have to detour onto county roads to avoid this area, which will save time, money and vehicle wear-and-tear.

A strategic plan with the maintenance sheds from the two districts allowed each to properly execute the project smoothly. The districts worked collaboratively to stage trucks, traffic control and help where needed.

This project is a great example of eliminating boundary lines between districts. Each district may have different ways of doing things, different budgets and different projects, but we all come together in the end to help when needed! We got the job done.
