DMV veterans' service to our country recognized

DMV employees who served in the military are now being recognized on a veterans' wall. There are 29 Division of Motor Vehicles employees who have served in the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines.

Acknowledging the employees' service was the idea of the Registrations Unit. The wall features the employees' military and ITD photos and is divided by the service branches.

"We recently worked with the armed services branches to update the veterans' license plate," Registrations Unit Supervisor Santiago Palomera said. "From that experience, we decided we should honor our DMV veterans."

Approximately 14% of all ITD employees have provided past or current military service — 221 people.
