Arnold recognized in Cascade for 50 Years in the Air

On Oct. 31, Idaho flying legend Ray Arnold was officially recognized by Idaho Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter for 50 years of flight. Here's the text of the official proclamation:

"Congratulations on your 50-year service award! We are truly insprired by your commitment to our State through your thousands of hours of service.

Your achievement of 30,000 flight hours of support to the citizens of Idaho is recognized as one of Idaho aviation's greatest accomplishments. Many Idahoans depend on the aerial transportation of mail, supplies, medical service and recreational services throughout Central Idaho, and it was because of your services that they were able to receive this support. You have proven that it doesn't take much to have a huge impact in someone's life.

It's wonderful that you will continue helping others through your vast experience and mentoring of younger pilots. I applaud you for your efforts to give back.

We will miss seeing your smiling face inside an arriving Arnold Aviation mail plane. On behalf of the citizens of Idaho, I personally thank you and present this letter of appreciation for your 50 years of service."
