Can't hold a candle(stick) to D5's Montpelier shed

District 5 recently came up with an improvement to the current practice of hauling and setting up traffic-control candles. Their solution is easier to haul and set up, and easier to take down once the project is done.

"In the past, they were pre-assembled and hauled in a trailer that took up a lot of room, and also were in the way when not in use," explained DeLoy Kunz, a Transportation Technician out of the Montpelier maintenance shed.

The result is a safety improvement for our workers, who spend less time in harm's way out on the road, and a mobility improvement for drivers, since the roadway returns to normal traffic flow more quickly.
