Kuisti named new DEPP Administrator, succeeding Kimbol

Dave Kuisti is the department’s new Division of Engineering Products and Plans Administrator, succeeding Kimbol Allen. Kuisti will officially start in his new role in Boise on March 10.

"It will be difficult to leave District 2 and the best job I've had at ITD (to date)," Kuisti said. "We have an outstanding team of dedicated employees here in Lewiston and we are at a point of completing many important milestones.

"Throw the Treasure Valley real-estate market into the mix and I start to question my own sanity," he added. "However, I am excited to see ITD from new perspective and to work on the important issues facing the department."

A search will immediately begin for Kuisti’s replacement in District 2, where he has been District Engineer for the last five years. Kuisti will provide input to the selection committee searching for the next D2 D.E. and will continue to be part of the Senior Leadership Team at ITD as well.

“I want to thank Dave for his excellent service to ITD and our customers during his DE tenure,” said ITD Chief Operations Officer Travis McGrath. “Based on my experience with Dave and feedback from our five interview panels, I believe Dave has the desired skills, experience, disposition, and vision to lead DEPP toward One Highways.”

ITD’s Division of Highways has two divisions located at Headquarters: Kuisti’s DEPP, and the Division of Engineering Services (DES), administrated by Blake Rindlisbacher. There are a dozen functional teams between the two divisions, and they work closely with each other and with the districts. Kuisti, Rindlisbacher and McGrath will collaborate on the transition.
