711.20 Fiber Wattles (Natural Netting)

SUBSECTION 711.20 FIBER WATTLES. 100% Biodegradable. SECTION SC-8 of the Best Management Practices Manual (BMP). See ITD Standard Drawing 212-3. 100% Biodegradable natural netting with a life expectance of approximately one year. Natural fiber netting wattles are used with revegetation, sensitive areas, and areas that attract wildlife. Diameter 8-inch to 11-inch: minimum weight of 1 pound per linear foot. Diameter greater than 11-inch: minimum weight of 3 pounds per linear foot.

711.21 Compost Sock

SUBSECTION 711.21 COMPOST SOCK. Composed of 100% Biodegradable materials. Biodegradable is defined as: " The material will decompose under ambient soil conditions into carbon dioxide, water, and other naturally occurring materials within a time period relevant to the product’s expected service life. " Certified noxious weed free material. See SECTIONS - 212.03, 654.0 of the ITD Standard Specifications.

Biodegradable Logs

100% Biodegradable Logs are fiber rolls that are manufactured from 100% coir (coconut) fibers or other approved material. All material including netting to have a life expectance approx. one year. Biodegradable logs are used for shoreline protection or stabilization.
