Description
SUBSECTION 711.21 COMPOST SOCK. Composed of 100% Biodegradable materials. Biodegradable is defined as: " The material will decompose under ambient soil conditions into carbon dioxide, water, and other naturally occurring materials within a time period relevant to the product’s expected service life. " Certified noxious weed free material. See SECTIONS - 212.03, 654.0 of the ITD Standard Specifications.
Special Notes
Geotextile or compost socks shall have a min. diameter of 8" and be free from any type of preservative and are to be used in areas flow rates are less than 1 cfs and drainage areas are not to exceed five (5) acres. If to be used on slopes steeper than 3H:1V, rolls must be used in conjunction with additional erosion control measures. Min. tensile strength of 44 psi and stakes must be biodegradable. Shall have a life expectancy approx. 1 year.
