Koon claims top honors in Press Women's contest

Cathy Koon, public affairs specialist for ITD’s District 6, recently received first place in the annual communications contest sponsored by Idaho Press Women.

Koon, editor of the district’s newsletter, took top honors in the four-color newsletter category for the district’s publication of Six Bits. The announcement was made at the concluding banquet of the organization’s annual state convention April 30.

First place entries, including Six Bits, have been submitted as Idaho’s submissions to the National Federation of Press Women’s communications contest. Winners of the national competition will be announced at the organization’s national conference later this year in Seattle.

The same night Koon received the Press Women's award, her publication also was being honored with third place in the public relations internal newsletter category at the Idaho Press Club banquet in Boise.
